Human-in-the-Loop
Any AI system design where a human reviews, corrects, or approves the model's output as a routine part of the process.
"Human-in-the-loop" describes the broader category most AI-training and evaluation gig work falls under: the model doesn't run fully autonomously, a person checks its work at some stage. Job listings sometimes use this exact phrase to describe ongoing review or quality-control roles, as opposed to one-off data-labeling batches.
Example
An AI drafts a first-pass summary of a legal document, and a paralegal reviews and edits it before it's sent to the client - the paralegal is the human in the loop.
