About the Role
Mercor is seeking GPU kernel optimization experts to contribute to a project with a leading AI lab, evaluating and optimizing GPU kernels across modern hardware using profiler-guided analysis.
What You'll Do
Analyze and optimize GPU kernels for performance and hardware utilization
Use profiler metrics (L2 cache hit rate, occupancy, throughput) to guide improvements
Review kernel implementations, identify bottlenecks, and document optimization decisions
You're a Good Fit If You
Fluent in C++17, working knowledge of Python and Git
Fluent in a GPU programming model (CUDA, HIP, Slang, HLSL, GLSL)
1+ year of professional/research GPU experience, available 20+ hrs/week
Independent contractor engagement, fully remote. Mercor pays weekly via Stripe or Wise.
