About the Role
The research teams behind the best-known AI models come to Mercor for language and audio judgment they can't generate on their own. Your standards and expertise become the rubric that frontier AI is graded against. This is a standing listing for linguists, translators, and audio professionals who want AI training and evaluation work, not a specific job opening. It stays open whether or not a matching project is running this week. New projects start on short notice, so instead of posting and pulling a listing each time, we keep one open per field and draw from it when one begins.
What You'll Do
- We match people in this network to projects like:
- Writing prompts and reference answers in your language, with the register, idiom, and cultural context a model has to get right for the answer to read as native
- Grading model output in your language: whether a translation preserves meaning and tone, whether the grammar is idiomatic rather than merely correct, whether the register suits the speaker and the setting
- Judging voice, music, and sound work on whether it is clean, natural, and usable, and saying precisely what is wrong when it is not
- Listings in this field on Mercor have posted at $35 to $50 an hour, set per project by scope, language, and depth.
- This pool spans the language and audio field, including:

- Translation and interpretation
You're a Good Fit If You
- Native or professional fluency in at least one language, or professional experience in translation, voice, music, or audio production
- Clear written communication, since most of the work involves explaining your reasoning
- Comfort with ambiguous tasks, and willingness to flag unclear instructions
